Members Targa Posted November 30, 2012 Members Posted November 30, 2012 Thanks Straw Hat! Are you using lead jig heads, drop shot setup, or just a split shot 18" above the hook, for your minnow rigs? I'll give it another try this weekend. Targa
straw hat Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 I use slip bobbers set to the desired depth. I use two hooks about a foot and a half apart and a minnow on each one. Use a light bobber, this time of year the bite is a little light.
powerdive Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Good info, Straw Hat. Thank you. Don't mind me, just bein' appreciative. I've been out midlake the last couple weekends, trying to make the winter bite start early, but it hasn't happened yet. I usually fish at 40-60 feet or so with spoons and jigging lures...the few crappies that are in those areas aren't bunched up yet....I caught 10 one day, and 5 the other. Once the water temp starts diving thru the 40s, my bite will be on. No walleyes down deep yet, either. But that'll change shortly.
