Members Zeke Kuehn Posted December 2, 2012 Members Posted December 2, 2012 Walking the banks of Crane Creek I notice that I don't see as many fish as I usually do darting back and forth. Anybody else notice this? "Fish Long and prosper"- John Geirach
timsfly Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Yes it is terrible, nobody should fish this winter on Crane. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
jdmidwest Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 All streams were affected by the drought this summer to some degree. Lets all take the year off next year and fish lakes only. Give the streams some time to recover. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
timsfly Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Went to crane to take pics for an article I'm writing, and the low water is bad but the snakes are doing well, they were everywhere, guess the snakes are enjoying the warm weather. Saw lots of trout. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop

Harps Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Some days you don't see the fish at all — they know how to hide — and some days they're quite visible. The low water/drought has definitely hit Crane hard. I think the trout were stressed some over the summer for it.
