Members sholder02 Posted December 4, 2012 Members Posted December 4, 2012 I moved my practice (and family) to Rogers, AR last month from Pittsburg, KS. I am a frequent visitor to Table Rock but have never fished Beaver. I've been so busy this last month that I have not had a chance to run over to Shell Knob to fish and I'm starting to get the shakes. If anyone would like to split gas one of these weekends and show a newcomer to Beaver the ropes, I'd sure appreciate it.
J-Doc Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Welcome to NWA and welcome to Rogers! There are a good group of folks here and there is more than enough lake for everyone. I would volunteer but I'm taking my boat in for a rebuild Friday. :-/ I bet there are some here that would help out. Do you have a boat? What practice? Medicine? Hope to see you here again. Beaver is a very tough lake to fish. It varies from hour to hour and day to day. What worked yesterday may or may not work tomorrow. At least that's how it is for me. Once you get a solid pattern, it works for a while with some adjustments. I think finding fish is key to this lake. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 Need marine repair? rps Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Beaver is an excellent bass and walleye lake with strippers added. Fins and Feathers and Quillback are excellent resources.
Feathers and Fins Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Two words come to mind this time of year, PRAIRIE CREEK! Go to the back of Avoca or Prairie Creek and get shad with a cast net then start drifting between the bouy lines at the marina, if that dont work drift around the swim beach. Set one bait near the bottom for walleye and two free-lined for stripers. My graph keeps blacking out in the area from the bait and whites. Ignore the gunshots from the tracker as geese fly over it they are doing nuisance goose jerky removal. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Members sholder02 Posted December 4, 2012 Author Members Posted December 4, 2012 Thanks for the welcome! That's the problem, I don't have a boat over here. I have pretty much adopted my old man's Bass Cat, but it stays garaged at their place over in Shell Knob until I'm over there to take it out. I primarily fish for bass and am pretty self-sufficient from the back of the boat.
Quillback Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Beaver is an excellent bass and walleye lake with strippers added. Fins and Feathers and Quillback are excellent resources. Well I must admit I get most of my info from Jeb, my best days on Beaver have been out of the back of his boat. Sholder, if you want to give one of the Bella Vista lakes a shot one of these weekends, I'll shoot you a PM when it looks like the fish are cooperating. Fished Saturday on Lake Windsor and all we had for our efforts was 3 dinks, but maybe this cold front will get them into a winter pattern.
Members sholder02 Posted December 4, 2012 Author Members Posted December 4, 2012 Quillback- That sounds great. Don't worry about the fish not biting. I'm just happy to be on the water.
jolicious Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Well bud, I can't promise any fish, but I can get you out and show you the lake. I'd hate for you to think that we're not friendly around here I'm not too swift with the whole pm thing. if you can figure out how to make one, let me know if Saturday's are good for you. heck, we may evem bring Jason (J-Doc) along
