abkeenan Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Anyone throw big flutter spoons on TR? The big 4-5" 1oz or more spoons? Like the Strike King Sexy Spoon type? Thinking of giving this technique a go sometime as it looks kinda fun and from what I hear puts some big fish in the boat. Thoughts?
riverfish Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 throw the five inch model in the "lake fork tackle" in chrome it works pretty good in the summer as a switch to something different. yet to catch a bigun but have caught good numbers. this summer was my first season trying it but i cannot complain about my results so far.
Members kscullawl Posted December 6, 2012 Members Posted December 6, 2012 I have thrown them quite a bit, but more in late spring/early summer and then late summer again. Seems like they work best when Big Crankbaits work. I haven't thrown them much past mid-Oct cause they don't seem to work as well. Then when it turns to the winter pattern, I always downsize and go more vertical. Just my 2 cents
Quillback Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I haven't thrown them on TR yet, but 2 winters ago they were working well on Beaver. Last winter they didn't work at all, but I think that's due to not having a shad die-off last year because of the mild temps. If we get a cold winter and get a shad kill, I'll be throwing them.
