Going down to the lake Saturday to try our luck. I've heard throwing warts on 45 degree banks and dragging a jig some. We're thinking near the dam area and possibly aunts creek. Any other suggestions?

Good starting point, but also try a tube, and a twin spin spinner bait reeled so slow it bumps across the botttom.

I don't know anout you but i had a rough time today. Nothing on the wart and only a few on a jig (no keepers). I probably should have thrown a bitsy tube some or spinner. Hope you faired better.

We had a tough day also Saturday. Fished from Aunts Creek to just past Baxter. Between me, my brother and my Dad, we had about a dozen (all smallmouth and spots) and only 1 keeper smallie, which my brother caught on a wiggle wart (green craw) between point 9 and wolfpen in a small cove with rocky bank. I caught 3 on a smoke with red flake tube and my Dad always likes to throw a grub and he caught 4 (BPS smoke with copper and red flake). I really thought it would be much better with the cloudy skies, but it was sure slow. Water temp. about 55.

I had a tough day at Beaver yesterday. Caught a few on the wart early the rest were on a jig. The jig was only working around docks with hardwood around and a pretty steep drop. Did have a 5 fish limit but they totaled about 6 lbs. Probably caught 12-13 fish total.

Sounds like last Saturday was kind of rough on everyone. My dad and I had a limit, but all 5 were barely line touchers. Thank goodness the wind picked up enough for about a hour and a half and the wart bite turned on. Other than that it was really tough.
