OK, I'm a rookie, but I have caught a lot if fish in my 2 trips to Taney this year. A friend turned me onto this fly, and it worked well, so I guess it's my favorite. I fished it with a 6X tippet down about 3 feet deep using a small round strike indicator. The bead is tungsten, so that was plenty of weight. Had best luck when the water wasn't running. At Bennett, this is a 60 to 80 fish per day fly....no kidding....

What's your favorite? Post pictures or URL's please, along with how best to fish.

Thanks....

I just tied up a couple dozen harvester midges this weekend. Its also called the Danville Midge down on the Lil Red. It's deadly there and is great on all of the White River tailwaters.

Is there any trout water that it DOESN'T work on...?

Don't know if it would be my favorite, but I do like the Disco Midge... you can find it under the '06 midge fly swap thread...

I've experimented quite a bit with bead head midge patterns. Different bead colors, thread color, and ribbing. That one is one of my favorites. I didn't know it was an actual established pattern though. Just goes to show you there are very few new things out there just variations on a theme.
