jeb Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I have some of the vision 110+ lures, but I've yet to catch a single fish on them around here. I need to take the above back. I was thinking of the 110 magnums, not the 110+. I have not fished the 110+, but just picked two of them up to try. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
ozarkgunner Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 champ, the old rogues are some of the best rogues, say pre- 1990 would be cool if BPS had mega bass on sale during their spring sale ozarkgunner, I'm glad that they work so well for you. you must be talking about the old megabass 110. I've been fishing the 110 since they came out like twelve years ago.. If you got some old ones, they are made solid , and durable. My fav color was/is GG perch. I think after a handful of years in mass production the quality had faded..that's why there were hundreds and hundreds if not thousands of broken lipped visions over the years. Guys like myself and others were using a tiny bit of clear epoxy or finger nail polish to toughen up the bills. If I were to buy one tomorrow it would be with my fingers crossed. I use the 110 +1 I think the bigger bill is a LOT tougher. Angler At Law
Football Head Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 The bill on the 110+ 1 is much tougher than the 110.
*T* Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Have caught numbers and size on Staysees and like them much. When jerkbait fishing like to keep a shallow and deeper bait on hand for different situations. Also like to keep smaller jerkbaits ready for quiet, no wind, shallower water situations. Fish mostly LC baits but have McRips & 110+1 to try out this year. "Water is the driving force of all Nature."Â -Leonardo da Vinci
ozarkgunner Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I keep three rods out at least. One with a plus one in a natural color, one with a brighter color (chartreuse belly), and a xd-80 as a small bait. Sometimes I will have a few more but I only have three baitcasters I like to throw jerkbaits with. I love jerkbait fishing !!!! I feel like a kid on Christmas morning knowing I can go on Saturday. I will pre rig at least 8 times between now and Saturday. Angler At Law
Football Head Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I could spend hours every night out in the shop getting all my rods rigged up, organizing tackle, and messing with the boat.
RSBreth Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I like some of the deeper running suspenders like the XRap Deep 08 and 10 and the Staysee, but if I want to go deeper I really like the shad-shaped cranks like the XRap Shad or original balsa Shap Rap with lead weight added. You do have to throw the balsa ones on spinning gear but that's just fine with me.
Members Don P Posted February 16, 2013 Members Posted February 16, 2013 Well this post cost me some money. Bought some Megabass 110 +1's, some staysee 90's and even some Leviathans from Japan. Headed down the first weekend in March...then two weeks later headed to Dale Hollow....so if I can keep the swimbait rod out of my hand I intend to do alot more Jerkbait fishing this spring.
