ozarkgunner Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Anyone catching any on this evil bait? This thing crashed like a North Korean rocket. I have seen them as cheap as 5 bucks. Angler At Law
Feathers and Fins Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 It came! It saw! It scared the crap out of the pros! It caught fish! and then people relised it like all other lures, baits, or whatever has its place and it fell in the catergory of JUST ANOTHER TOOL https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Dutch Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I have a bunch of them and haven't given up yet. FEB, MAR, APR will see me using them every trip.
J-Doc Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 They say conditions have to be right. Then........it stands out as "the tool". Like F&F said.....its a tool. Football Head Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 What conditions has everyone found to be best for the A-rig bite?
J-Doc Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Heck if I know! Lol!! Just what I've heard. I have chunked it many times with no success. Only caught one fish on it so far but I have not fished it very much. I think I was told water temp needed to be around 50-55. Anything colder or warmer and its not as successful or so I was told. Feathers and Fins Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Low light in areas with high concentrations of shad, When i was doing a lot of reptile collecting I learned the word crepuscular it really defines fish activity as well though you can catch them at anytime being in the right place at the right time that magic time of day though is most productive. Cloudy days are second. It is not so much conditions for the A-rig as it is being where the high concentrations of bait is around and when the forage switches to crayfish more than shad the A-rig goes way down in productivity. Also depth is a key to it I found it is best from surface to 10ft pushing down to 12. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
