Daveinozark Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 based on price, I've narrowed down my choices of a kayak on these 2. The featherlite is 9 1/2ft and sounds like it's lighter than the A10. concerns are fitting this into a Jeep cherokee and I do mostly stream fishing, so it has to be able to handle scraping the bottom and not tipping. which of these 2 would you recommend, and why?
GloryDaze Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 If your two requirements are fitting in your truck and able to take some wear and tear, I would definitely pick the one that fits in your truck. Follow me on Twitter @DazeGlory
jdmidwest Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 The Cherokee does not have a rack system? That is a preferred way, that way you don't get the interior of your vehicle wet. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Daveinozark Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 nope, no roof rack, but I'm not worried about getting it wet. It's an old ride, I've been stuffing my inflatable boat in there. not much size difference between those 2 though. I'm thinking that Heritage at Academy may be the way to go
GloryDaze Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I can fit a 9.5 swifty in my H3, so I bet you could squeeze it in your truck. Follow me on Twitter @DazeGlory
Daveinozark Posted January 10, 2013 Author Posted January 10, 2013 anyone have that Heritage featherlite 9.6? seems like a great price at Academy
ollie Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Friend of mine has a featherlite and he is still on the fence about it. Not enough storage for him, but then again he brings the kitchen sink everytime too! Daveinozark Posted January 10, 2013 Author Posted January 10, 2013 storage is no big deal for me, I only go on short trips
ollie Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Oh, we normally do short trips as well. You should have seen him tip over the first time out with two big ol coolers and crap between his legs! I laughed hard then had to help find his stuff. lol "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Daveinozark Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 in my bit of research, I think I'm leaning towards a SOT. Academy has a 10ft for $400 anyone weigh in on that one?
