huntest Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Any suggestions on good low water ramps or specific ramps to avoid in low water? I read somewhere that on some ramps you could back down too far and end up falling off the lower edge....ugg
dblades Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I know the ramp at Big Bay is out of the water, but Campbells Point is fine, just a long way to back the truck up..
inshore Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Watch the dock at campbell's point. The water is very shallow. A friend nicked a prop and skeg while pulling out to fish.
Champ188 Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Those fishing up the White, the Corps ramp at Eagle Rock and the H Highway ramp inside Baxter were both in good shape last time me and Donna were there. The lake hasn't dropped more than a foot since then.
Quillback Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Big M is still usable, but the end of the ramp is now in about 4 feet or so of water. If the lake drops another foot or two, Big M might be problematic. There's a couple of HUGE concrete blocks on the side of the ramp opposite the dock, the tops are about 1 foot under the water, when approaching the ramp in your boat, stay on the marina side of the cove and then make a 90 to the dock.
