duckydoty Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Got down to Taney about 3:30 p.m. The parking lot was crowded and lots of people out enjoying the nice weather. One of the regular day shifters was even out there wet wading. Walking down the stairs by outlet 2, I noticed a few of the day-shifters sitting around the rocks at the bottom of the stairs. I sat down and visited with them for a while, then hit the water. Headed down towards the rebar hole and started fishing just above the chute heading into the hole. Lots of fish activity in that area. Started with a crackle back and cast across the current stripping it back in as it swung down into the chute. Caught 5 or 6 fish on the crackle back and then switched to a renegade. Lots of chasers and a few hook ups on that. Switched over to an olive pine squirrel sculpin and really started picking up fish. Brought to hand one nice buck about 3 1/2 pounds that squirted milk every time I touched him. Guess I know what all that fish activity was about now. Headed up to the truck just before dark and switched over to the night time gear. Went down at dark and started fishing the old gauntlet area with the olive pine squirrel. Got a few hits and only brought 2 to hand. Switched over to black and headed down towards the old point area and caught 4 or 5 more before deciding to head on down to boat launch area. Waded across the river and fished directly across from the launch. Got hits on just about every cast but only brought 5 to hand till the moon came up. Had to switch over to a white mink sculpin after to moon came up to continue catching fish. Picked up 15 more before calling it an evening. Most fish came from just casting across the current and letting it dead drift. Did pick up the last 5 by ever so slowly stripping it in with long and slow strips. Most fish after dark were in the 10 to 13 inch range but 4 or 5 of them would go 15-17 inches. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
ciRe Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Sounds like a fun day. Wish I could have enjoyed a day like that instead of work.
ruthead Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 sounds like a great day......considering I'm sitting here in the snow and schools cancelled. "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"
