Dave Cook Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Sunday morning started out a lot warmer than the forecast. It was about 40 degrees at sunrise. One generator was running at about 20mw. The water was only up 2 feet. Perfect for fishing near the hatchery below outlet 3. I fished an olive jig for a couple of hours. Many bites were had but all the fish were small. Nothing over 13 inches, But it was steady catching all morning. Other flies like woolies are good there. Some people were doing well with soft hackles. I just left the same jig on didn't bother to see what else they were hitting. End up with about 20 rainbows and one small brown. Dave Cook Missouri Trout Fishermen's Association - Kansas City
duckydoty Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 There have been a couple of big bows hanging out down there. I've seen one about 30 inches long a couple of times and know 2 people that have had him on in the last week. Most of them are in the 10 to 13 inch range but there are a few nice ones down there. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners

Well now that bird season has ended, and you are back to trout fishing, you need to catch one of those big girls and validate my predition from last summer. You have got until the twenty eighth to catch a new state record rainbow. A thirty inch fish could be in the running.
duckydoty Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Went down there and gave it a shot again today. Had him on for about 1.3 seconds. Took me to school real quick. Had the whole place to ourselves till the rain stopped. When the sun came out, it looked like a weekend down there. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at..
