I usually use minnows but that day I was without them, I agree they usually bring more bites and better fish. And jdelow yes I was fishing from the bank. Jdoc send me a PM with your number if you decide to go. I am meeting with a guy about a boat motor earlier on Sunday so my duck killing / fish slaying machine may be here before I thought.

jdelow, I've been catching the crappie from pretty much any spot you can walk to on the white arm south of 412 bridge. Twin Bridges, Blue Springs Rd, Beavorama, Habbertons. If you look on google earth you can find quite a few areas to walk in. Plug these coordinates in and it gives you a start at least, you can walk over a mile down the south shore and the fishing keeps getting better the further you go. 36° 8'32.59"N 94° 0'6.86"W. All the little access points around there get fished heavily so the further you are from where everyone parks the better.

We own a lake house on the Rambo arm of beaver ( family lake house I should say ) it's deep and right on a bluff line , I've planted tons and tons of brush piles but, only caught 3 crappie there in 7 years , it's deep there so if the fish aren't deep I don't catch anything ...
