Want to split some gas in the spring? I need some exercise. Yes, I know: Loose lips sink ships.

Very nice water, what part of So IL is that?

Looks very much like So MO and No AR.

Really good looking fishy water!

Had no knowledge of that National Forest in IL.

Seems like anywhere south of Chicagoland is So IL. :)

Pretty much anything south of hwy 13 that runs from the Mississippi river to the Wabash river on the east side of the state is more ozark than farmland. Glaciers were not able to flatten it like they did rest of the state, and there are some incredible places in the shawnee. For the most part it is very lightly used. Most fisherman focus on lakes in my area, and leave the creeks to those who are willing to put in a little work. Just how I like it.

It used to be like that over here too, but that has changed alot. I see alot more on creeks and streams than I used too.

What species can be caught in the streams of Southern Illinois, particularly those in the Shawnee National Forest.

siusaluki - BE QUIET!!

S Illinois is incredibly close to the terrain of MO / AR. Lots of bluffs, spring fed creeks with rocky bottoms and clear water.

I love to wade those creeks in a pair of shorts during the hot summer. Lots of shade and cool water - springs to drink from - it's a "best kept secret"!!

avilesmuggler:

Species include bluegill, punk'nseed, KY spotted bass, largemouth bass, gogglle eye, redear, crappie if you're close to the Ohio River, and others.

If I'd known I was gonna live this long, I would have taken better care of myself...
