Beaver creek area was loaded up with birds this morning. Little drive around and seen more ducks in an hour than I've seen all season combined down here. Spring hole at Kissee Mills park was loaded up with pintails, mallards, widgeon, teal, and of course gadwall. Seen probably close to couple thousand or around the mouth of beaver as well flying and sitting on the water. Oh well, gives me something to look forward to for next season ;).

I talked to another buddy today that said he had seen a bunch of birds flying today also.

this may sound stupid, but I am still learning this area. are those birds from up north that are getting pushed down with this weather or are they early migrators heading back north like the snow geese ?

Hard to say, but it's more birds than have been seen all season in this area.

I think they are heading north. I was at Mingo last Friday. They finally got the water to flood the refuge with the rains of the last month. Shovelers were everywhere. They are an early south fliers following the teal normally. Lots of mallard and few pintails. Main pool on lake at Duck Creek was bluebills and a mess of snows rafted in the middle.
