chris3179 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Been thinking alot about this. My boat is a tracker grizzly with a yamaha 25 hp tiller handle and trolling motor up front. I have a fishmark eagle 320 fishfinder in the the back for depth. My thought is this, please CORRECT me if this is not an intelligent thing to do. The side of my boat has the versa track mounting system. My brilliant idea is to have the fishfinder on some sort of ram mount (that attaches to the versa track system) that i can move from the front (deck area/when i am trolling) , to the back (when i am operating the yamaha). Lowrance has a switch where i toggle between a front (trolling motor) and back transducer. Has anyone ran two transducer off one unit? Thanks in advance..... i have in laws in town and this is where my brain goes.
Quillback Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I have a couple of Humminbirds that are networked together and through the options I can select which transducer I want to use, I never have used this feature except for playing around with it when I first got my boat. That being said, it sounds as if your plan should work, I don't know what the Lowrance mounting brackets are like, but Humminbird makes quick connect brackets, so that it would be possible to have a bracket in back and one in front, you could then just pop the unit out and move it to where you wanted it. I'd think you'd probably need two transducers to make it work, but this isn't something I have researched so I don't know the details. If you have time today, run over to the Classic Expo in Tulsa, Humminbird and Lowrance both are there, with some very knowledgeable staff on hand that could show you what you need to do.
J-Doc Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I'm here at the classic. Lowrance has about 15-20 guys over here that can explain anything about their products. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!

J-Doc Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Does a bear crap in the woods? :-) Picked up a great deal on a Lowrance Elite 5dsi/GPS chart plotter and grabbed another H20 series rod for only $40. If no one has tried the H20 rods at Academy.......you're missing out. Rumor is they are made by All-Star rods. Its as light as a GLoomis and almost as sensitive. You have to have the two side-by-side to tell the difference. Which I have done. For the money......its $300-550 or $59.95.......you choose. I choose the cheap one and I'm happy. Need marine repair? npierceuark Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 J Doc I need to see that Lowrance and you know how I feel about those H20's. I'm thinking about heading to academy before the whites start running to get me another.

npierceuark Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 That's what I use almost exclusively, I've owned almost every type of mid level spinning rod and I put them through hell; that's why I'll probably never buy myself a $100 rod because it will eventually be at the bottom of a river. They are affordable and offer about the best backbone of any rod I've fished with.
