Nick Williams Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Heading down to Taney next Sunday. This'll be my third or so trip, and a first for my dad, usually I stay up by the dam bc there is easy access. I am curious what other areas have easy access for wade/bank. We will be primarily fly fishing, no boat. We were going out with a guide on Monday but for the times that were on our own I would like to get a better idea of where to go. Thanks guys. - Nick
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 25, 2013 Root Admin Posted February 25, 2013 You're pretty much limited to the dam to Lookout. By boat, you can wade the Narrows and the bar below that almost to Fall Creek.
Brian K. Shaffer Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Nick - how did you guys do ? how did the guide trip go.. and how was the wade fishing on your own ? Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
Nick Williams Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 The trip as a whole went great! Jeremy was a great guide, and he kept us on fish the whole time. I would recommend him to anyone! We had one 20" bow while out with Jeremy and that was the biggest fish of the trip. Wade fishing was slower than being in the drift boat, but it was still consistent enough to keep us going. I had a 14" bow at night and another that I never got to see that felt massive. It's those fish that make me want to get back ASAP! I also saw several big rainbows while wading. All in all it was a fantastic trip and I can't wait to get back! - Nick
