I love wade fishing, fishing out of my kayak, and canoes. I mostly stick to the clear ozark streams that wadable or only require brief swims. If anyone has any good creeks or good fishing lakes around St. Louis I would love to hear back. Or if you want advice on where to take a young fisherman on their first wading trip I would love to give some suggestions.

Welcome to the forum. Not many clear creeks real close to the St. Louis area, but if you head south on 21 down towards Potosi and past Potosi you will cross the Big River a couple of times. Nice clear wading water there especially the Boot Leg access 3 or so miles south of Potosi, or maybe its 3 miles north of Caledonia??? Keep going south past Pilot Knob and you'll come across Marble Creek. That's another gem.

check out the Mineral Fork around Potosi, too. good smallmouth stream.

Id be up for some local wading spots, mainly have done finley south of nixa, either side of the bridge.

I have done a little reading on a river north of stl. Does anyone know anything about the Fabius river?
