Buy some 2 lb floro for tippet. Throw 2 pink and 2 white power bait magnum floating balls on a size 6 gold hook. Use two large split shot 18 inches above the hook. Hook only one of each egg (other is free to spin). Your boys will have limits in no time.

This is the spring break problem with the Ozark lakes. Usually tough weather for the little ones to fish in. Bill has the right idea, and you might even be able to find a few fish other than trout if you work on down the river.

I have lived on table rock for 8 years with my boat in my slip which means I know the water pretty well and Bill is 100% correct, skip long creek and go for trout. The first 2 years I moved here my brother and I fished 5 days a week trying to figure out table rock and it kicked our butt, including long creek.

Once april/may hits, take the boys to the rock but for now trout it up. who knows, you might catch a record down there.

Trust us...go to taneycomo, put in my scotty's go up past the island, then up to cooper creek and drift it all day long, no logs or hang-ups really to be concerned about. Use trout eggs, marshmellows or corn, they all work. Clean your fish at scotty's,then eat up

Bill is Right!

If you want to get those kids addicted to fishing I would 100% take them to Taneycomo. I had 8 kids under 10 in 2 trips down there last week and they absolutely loved it.. They wouldn't have lasted 2 hours up on T Rock..Just half a crawler and a gulp egg filled the boat. Water was colored enough for 4 lb line no problem.
