Members Cracken0812 Posted March 11, 2013 Members Posted March 11, 2013 Has anyone started to catch any running whites? I usually catch in roaring river arm this part of the year but not heard of anyone catching any yet. Any info will be appreciated! Thanks.
Bill Babler Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I think you would have had to of chopped them out of chunk Ice this morning. Really quiet on the WB front so far this year. Going to warm up later in the week, and I expect them to start first over on Bull Shoals. We will be rigtht behind. I bet in the next two weeks. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Bill Babler Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 they have already started at beaver creek we caught um just below slue holler right before dark Good to know. Josh did you all catch limits and what size. I'm always interested in the whites for clients. Onlly thing about whites and crappie Folks seem to think they have had a bad trip if they don't catch a limit. Bass on the other hand if people go out and catch some its fine. I guess it is because when we fish for crappie and whites it turns into a meat deal and all bets are off. Took a couple of guys last year when they were just below Swan and we just caught the tar out of Big ole gals. One had 14 and the other had 13 that filled my livewell. In a late evening trip, only a couple of hours. Both guys said it would have been a good trip if they would have only gotten their limit. I've given up taking people for crappie, even if they do have a limit, they always wish they were bigger, or it would not have taken quite so long to catch them. Thanks for the info. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Josh Holt Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 we caught our limits in about 30 min before dark on purple beetals just down from about 500 yrds from slue holler but when it got dark they just shut off. Not much for size small males and small sows
Bill Babler Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Josh, you have been a wonderful poster. You have helped people all Winter and the forum really appreciates it. Good Fishing and again thanks for your contributions. There you all go. That is just about as up to date information as is anywhere on the upcoming white bass run. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 So Josh how is the creek looking, water wise? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Josh Holt Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 when I was their the other day I stuggled to find a deep enough hole that I could get to with my bad knee, but the creek looked good was clear but I dont know since the rain cause friday when i was their it was raining on us off and on but they were hammering it so we just fished through the lightning but when it got completely dark they just shut off like someone flipped a switch I was catching mine on a purple beetle and my brother was catching them on a purple swimming minnow I might go down this afternoon with the boat the other day we were on the bank we just went to see if the whites were their yet or not and they are its the first wave cause they were all males and little sows.
