Yes, on the Shadow Rock/ Swan Creek side.

The lake is stll low and only a trickle of flow coming out of the creek, so we waded straight out from the creek mouth into the main river channel and worked down about 100 yd or so.

Once you see it, this should make sense.

Having some flow thru Powersite is definitely a positive factor, I wouldn't waste my time if there is not.

Good luck if you go!!

Thanks for your post. I am new to fishing the Swan Creek area. Is there a website for a person to find out if there is flow through Powersite or is it just luck of the draw. My brother is coming up from Texas the first week in April. We usually fish for crappie at LOZ but with the weather so cold I need a backup plan to get him on some fish while he is here. Thanks

There is not a website or a phone # the public can call to get generation info for Powersite Dam.

My personal opinion is that the electric co-op that owns the dam shows little respect for the safety or convenience of the fishing public.

Unfortunately, about all you can do is monitor the generation schedule for Table Rock Dam (TRD) and assume if they are moving water thru TRD that eventually Powersite has to begin releasing some of the accumulated volume.

This can be insanely frustrating when you are trying to make a decision if and when to fish there.

Here is the weblink to the SWPA site for the daily generation of many of their facilities:

http://www.swpa.gov/generation.htm

When you open this page, click on Monday and note the actual date which is today the 18th. You can read the anticipated (NOT guaranteed) generation schedule for a number of SWPA facilities. There is a key to the abbreviations at the bottom of the page.

But, if you click on Tuesday you will see that the actual date was last Tue. The schedule for tomorrow the 19th will not be posted to the site until about 5 pm, daily.

The exception is on Fridays, after 5 pm they post the schedules for Sat, Sun and Mon.

Hope you find this helpful, it is about all that any of us have for reference.

Thanks for the information. I went to the website and it seemed easy to read. I work for a co-op as a dispatcher but we have very little generation and don't deal with it very often so I was unaware of this website. Thanks again.

I might add that it takes about, don't set your watch, 4 hours for the water to move to the dam. Powersite has to either generate or let the water top the dam. I think they sync with TR and generate when they get free water.

I'm with Bill, don't take the schedule for granted.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
