Members derekburleson Posted March 17, 2013 Members Posted March 17, 2013 Put in at Monte Ne and ran over to Horseshoe Bend, bass fishing, when she hit a chartreuse and white War Eagle spinnerbait in about 10 feet of water. Baked beans, homemade cole-slaw, and thick,Tony Cachere's seasoned striper fillets completed the process. Thank you Lord for the bite and a beautiful day!
jeb Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Good striper! I left the house at about sunrise yesterday, and the striper boats were packed into the back of the PC cove area already. Kind of odd to see them so close together with long lines out in such skinny water, but there must be stripers in there! John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Feathers and Fins Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Nice fish and great eatings Derek. WC and I were in PC most the day. The Gizzard shad are super thick in there right now 10 to 14'' size. the striper boats are going in to the back to get them. We tried fror stripers but NO glory. Did manage 7 nice whites all the way in the back, some shore anglers had told us they were cleaning up on the whites and had a few stripers to 25lbs. Best action we had was at the mouths of PC and Avoca, the baits were constantly getting spooky but I beleive it was small stripers that couldnt handle the monster baits that were making them nervous. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Members derekburleson Posted March 17, 2013 Author Members Posted March 17, 2013 The bass fishing wasn't that great. Rat-L-trap and shad rap caught us a few, but nothing real consistent.
