sandbc Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 buddy and I went to beaver creek saturday for the first time looking for the whites that was suppose to be running. chose to go here instead of our usual stockton trip mainly because of the weather forcast was to be warmer south and less wind which that part did not disapoint us. was a beautiful day and a nice area i might add. just lacking the fish. I caught two whites mid morning and that was it for me for the day. went out to the main channel and fished the bluffs in the afternoon and my buddy caught one keeper LM that he put back. lots of boats up the creek but no one was catching much like us. did see one boat catch several whites. just not tearing them up. I know they were using minnows just dont know if they were tipping jigs with them or just minnows by their selves. looks like i will be rained out of work most of this week so may try to go back if anyone is interested in sharing the gas from springfield... good luck guys. thanks for the reports lilly
vonreed Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Good report. I was going down there for a few days to and it seemed that the water cleared up and it pushed them back out into the lake. I don't know for sure, it's just a guess. And I feel your pain on the gas, it gets taxing when a feller goes often.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I was down there on Saturday, we started in beaver a caught a couple, then ran up toward barker and caught one there, we went back to beaver and as soon as the water hit 57 it seemed like they got hungry we ended up with 25 most caught on white vibric rooster tails and some on firecracker swimming minnows with a blue roadrunner head. Seemed like we would catch 5 or 6 then move up 50 or 100 yards and 5 or 6 and so on. saw lots of people on the bank with full stringers. We got off the water at around 5:30 the wind also picked up real hard at about 3 and thats when we caught the most.
sandbc Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 Nice. sounds like i wasnt holding my mouth just right or something. we also ran up the lake to 76 bridge saw nothing happening there so came back to beaver just about the time the wind picked up but stayed in the mouth area before giving it up. glad to here you did good.

Wayne SW/MO Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I spend a lot of time on Beaver and at the Pothole. last year when they were coming up early because of the warm weather they didn't. I'm hanging patient this year because like it or not they ain't coming until they're ready. They kind of spread the run out last year for what ever reason, but they didn't really start good until late in the month. I'm hoping this is the last winter blast and spring will sprung next week and then it should start getting good. If I were boating I would be chasing eyes because they are running and you might pick up some stray whites in the process. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
