zarraspook Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Thought things were about right for the “dam walleye” to be active so, off to Stockton... ( First mistake ) The wind was “0” in Willard so, should be at Stockton... ( Second mistake ) Arrived Crabtree cove about 4pm .. I had on all the clothes I own except for a snowmobile suit... ( Third mistake ) White caps rolling in to Crabtree cove but, looked clam at the dam.. ( Fourth mistake ) I’m tough , I can fish till dark... ( Fifth mistake ) 6:30pm , I’m shaking so bad I can’t open the bail on my reel... ( Time to correct ALL my mistakes ) 6:45pm Boat loaded – heater in truck on full HOT.... Half way back to Willard I am getting feeling back in my feet and hand again..... Seen about a dozen boats and 5-7 shore fisherpersons and saw 1 fish caught and returned to the water... I’m headed back to Stockton as soon as the 4 of July fireworks are over !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
Stockton Lake Guide Service Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 sorry about the trip zarraspook. the wind laid about the time you left. cold, but fishing got hot. we had 6 eyes 2 over 20". all were caught between 6:45 And dark. Good think is we didn't get there until 6 so didn't fight the cold wind for long. I don't blame you for taking off. didn't feel like no 59 where I was fishign Bob Bennett Stockton Lake Guide Servicehttp://fishstocktonlake.com 417-637-BASS"Our Service is Crappie" ”And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? rps Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Zspook, we have all had those days when we demonstrate that what sounds like a good idea is perhaps not. So far you and I have survived ours.
wtr dogs Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Zara I had two of those days the 14th and 15th when I went up to get the boat and 5th wheel ready for some serious fishing. SEVEN different things didn't work with the worst being the broken PVC sewer pipe or maybe not being able to get my microwave door open to cook my instant meal. My Dr. asked me why my blood pressure was up the following Monday and my reply was for him not to let me touch him or he would turn to feces too. Looks like it may warm up some for Easter weekend, but I try not to fish that weekend because bad things usually happen. Hopefully we can get together and strap on our life jackets go out and catch some Fish together. Home of the the dam of 2009 AKC National Debry Champion.--AMMOAMMO
