vacation Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Got out in the rain last night for 1 hr max 6-7pm..got cold on me and I was ill-prepared. Managed 9 keeps all on lucky craft red/crawdad 3.5's. Fish in 10-15fow back on 45 degree banks. Banks could be toward main lake or even in back of coves, just had to have deep water near by, typical staging areas. here is a pic of one of them. my wife caught several as well on a lucky craft craw color. All fish came in jakes creek area. water temp 48-50
Bill Babler Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 How fast were you all working the baits? PS Your wife knew what was important in the picture Great report. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
vacation Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 lol, nice. a slow roll on the cranks, 6:3.1 ratio jonny morris reel on loomis rods. all the fish hit with one small tick, let the bait set for split second and crank reel, fish usually were then on. all fish were caught on back hook, barely hooked. this pattern has worked for me since last friday. on friday water temps were 53-57 depending, but have dropped a lot. keep in mind, this is only the very top surface temps as you well know. i have caught 2 fish on carolina rig the last week and that is all. for me, the crank has been the deal.
Champ188 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 That's a nice spot. For me, C-rig just won't produce until water temp hits 57-58 and stays there. That's just my experience with the thing over the years.
Members timr0123 Posted April 2, 2013 Members Posted April 2, 2013 Which Lucky Craft 3.5 were to throwing? I have some of the Rick Clunn silent fat BDS 3.5's, but not sure if these are the ones you were using.
