vonreed Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I had a friend go up to Taylor bridge today and he said people were just slaying the whites up there. He talked to 4 guys in kayaks or canoes who told him they got their limit in 45 mins after putting in.
dennis boatman Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 ...I live just a few minutes from there, and yes it can be good, but it is still all or nothing...I've caught them on almost every cast, then go back later in the day and nothing... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
vonreed Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 After the report I had yesterday, I had to try today. Me and a buddy went up there and fished below the 215 bridge a little ways. We ended up catching 2 limits and let go at least 20-30 more. For a while it was a fish on every cast, but it slowed down this afternoon. No walleye or crappie.
WakenLake Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 im gonna go tomorrow and try my luck. last time i watched everyone around me slaying them this time ill leave with something or die trying. www.jordanvalleyautorepair.com
Members Saltydawg Posted April 7, 2013 Members Posted April 7, 2013 Went today to an unspecified location above Taylor. Fished for about 3 hours. Me and a buddy caught around 30 in about an hour and they shut off. Lots of small males mixed with a few bigger fish. Lost what appeared to be a nice walleye. All caught on chartreuse and purple clousers with sink tip line, nobody else was catching much. They were all in one little hole by the hundreds it seemed like
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 All caught on chartreuse and purple clousers I have got to tie some clousers with purple. I run across success stories with that color quite often. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members Saltydawg Posted April 7, 2013 Members Posted April 7, 2013 The purple out-fished the others by a long shot.
BilletHead Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Saltydog, were you there Friday? Two of you flyfishing? We went by two flyfishing on that day. BilletHead "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" BilletHead " One thing in life is for sure. If you are careful you can straddle the barbed wire fence but make one mistake and you will be hurting" BilletHead P.S. "May your fences be short or hope you have long legs" BilletHead
Members Saltydawg Posted April 7, 2013 Members Posted April 7, 2013 We were Fishing on Saturday. Not at Taylor
