Pretty much the same as my last report. Nice weather and soso fishing for hybrids. We did catch a good number of small blacks. They were chasing small baitfish around along the bank in the Maries. We also snagged for a bit and caught 3 spoonbill and three small gar. Water was really ripping. Lots of boats out enjoying the the awesome weather.

Big spoonbill ?

I had the biggest with a 39 incher. It was so skinny though that I bet it only weighed 25 pounds. It's one of the longest ones I have caught on the lower Osage.

did you by chance get the water temp?

My buddies boat doesn't have a graph so I didn't ge an updated temp. Another buddy went earlier in the day and said that the river was still in 42-44 range and the Maries was well in to the 50's.

And any ideas for hybrids? Lure ? Proximity?

We just fished the mouth of the Maries because the current was too swift to fish anywhere else. White was the best color. I think we only caught one or two on chartreuse. Crankbaits caught the nicer fish and the swimming minnows and grubs caught a few more but smaller fish.

I'll have to take you up on that sometime. Walleye is my favorite fish to eat but probably the one I know the least about catching. Anytime we catch one it's just blind luck while fishing for hybrids usually.
