Members beezerbassman Posted April 13, 2013 Members Posted April 13, 2013 I had to replace my transom last year. I had championship look at it and they said the transom was good, just stress cracks. I went to top gun in nixa and Mike had a guy that does it. He looked at the boat and my transom was cracked, and unsafe. He did great work, and reasonable.
jay bird Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 The recent water in the transom was my fault had some guys helping me with the boat put a new transducer on they got done with the transducer but said they did not seal the holes, I was working on other stuff on the boat and forgot they had said that. Took the boat out once for about 2 hours and then remembered the transducer. Took the screws out and water in the transom. Heat lamped it for one month, re-sealed everything and put the transducer on (a little low so I could see If I could get a depth on plane) and after one trip the transducer was loss( in the spot of the first leak) and a little water back in the transom. To me the transom seems solid no stress fractures or any thing that I can see, but the guy that had the boat for me and put transducers everywhere and this is a boat that I am going to use with my kids. I just want to make sure that it is safe and that the 200 mercury does not come flying off the back. For you guys that have had the transoms fixed what was the cost???
