vacation Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Fished between the dam and jakes creek yesterday from 5-7pm with wife and another guy who was first time fishing! So, pressure was on to put him on fish. I started hitting some brush piles for crappie/brem, just to get him interested in fishing and nothing bitin. So...I went out to main lake spot with timber and put jerk baits on all our lines, thinking that maybe a dumb bass would bite his lure. All said and done he caught 3 keepers, wife caught 3 keepers and I caught 4 shorts. Back at the dock, he put his jig down and caught two crappie, which we brought back to my house and I taught him to clean a fish. He was lovin it! So, bass were on windy steep banks with timber on them, put boat two casts from the bank and work them tree tops. Babler said it best when he said the bank is to hold water and not much else, he couldn't be more right on Table Rock. Dont know water temp as my built in temp gauge and my Lowrance took a crap and stopped working...must have a short in wiring.
Hunter91 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Congrats on a good trip! Its always nice when things workout especially with new fishermen and fisherwomen.
Champ188 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 You guys keep thinking that about the banks on TR. Granted, there are lots of times when you have to fish out, but not always by a long shot.
Iclass Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I'm with Champ... Hope you ALL stay way off the bank
