The Professional Walleye Trail (PWT) will be returning to Bull Shoals

June 20-22, 2007. If you'd like to learn alot about catching walleyes consider fishing the tournament as a co-angler. You fish each of the three days with a different pro each day. You can gain alot of "walleye smarts" in a short time and it's fun. At least my experience in 2004 was fun.

Information is available (or will be soon) on the In-Fisherman website under the side bar Professional Walleye Trail.

Have fun....!!

Well, unfortunately..........

The PWT was an In-Fisherman run organization. In-Fisherman was owned by Primedia Corp..... Recently, Primedia was sold. The 2007 PWT tournament schedule was shortened from 8 tournaments to 6 tournaments.

One of the two tourneys dropped was Bull Shoals. So, no Professional Walleye Trail at BS this year. darnnit.

I wonder why... aren't the walleye catching at these tournaments on BS tough in recent years? I wonder if that's the reason?

What lakes remain on the list of tournaments?

My guess would be that its a commercial decision, sponsors probably want them to stay in strong market area.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I suppose when the next world record comes out of Greer's Ferry Lake in Arkansas, they might just move back south for one more try...

The "catching" in 2004 and 2005 was very good at the PWT events at Bull Shoals. I'm just guessing but the two tournaments dropped for 2007 were the two events the farthest away from their home ground.

That may have had some bearing on their decision...

I do believe that the PWT will return to Bull Shoals. Just not in 2007.
