Ham Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I fished from about 3 pm until 6 pm. They've been running 2500-4500 fcfs for > 24 hours. Of course, it started raining about the time I hooked the boat up, BUT the wind was minimal which Is great for me. I went down to Red's Landing. Water was a little dingy which doesn't help and I really prefer to trout fish in the sunshine. UNLESS I'm targeting Brown trout. Not a lot of Browns down at Reds, but good numbers of fish at times. I struggled to find a lure that got bit fast enough for my liking. Everything worked a little bit, but nothing was working well. I went through about 6 colors of my Zig Jigs before deciding that black or white was my best choice. I also had to play with my retrieve a bunch to find a good one. I ended up catching 24 trout, 1/2 of which came in the last 30 minutes. I needed to get home for supper and I was tired of the rain anyway. I got a real healthy Brown and a 1/2 dozen or so piggy Rainbows. Unlike bass, Trout bite everyday UNLESS the water is trashed. If I have decent water, I will catch at least a few trout.
