Lifes2Short Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Out of Mutton Creek about 9:00, beautiful day with no wind. Water temps from 55 to 60. Mainly fished for crappie, ended up catching 24 with only 5 keepers. We could not find any crappie on the banks, only over brush piles in 25 to 30 fow. We also caught a few bass on crankbaits and finess stuff. There were a bunch of boats out fishing for crappie & walleye, not much luck with the crappie but the walleye fishing seems to still be very strong. Tight Lines! Todd
9LB Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Are you catching any big bass in the backs of coves or on beds ? Have you tried any topwater yet ? I know the walleyes are biting but they are so boring to catch. I am wanting to really get into the bass this weekend. Any tips ?
Hunter91 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 9lb-- you may think they are boring to catch but they are great to eat :-) Bass are bedding very good on TR right now. Water temps were 62 yesterday on TR, stockton cant be far behind. Sat water temps out of Mutton were 55.
Lifes2Short Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 I looked and looked yesterday for beds but did not find any. I tried the floating worm but I could not get anything to come up and take it.
Members murphdog Posted May 8, 2013 Members Posted May 8, 2013 Thanks for the report. Hopefully the water temp will rise and the crappie will start to move to the banks soon. Life's way too short not to fish!

9LB Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I am an avid Walleye guy but I am from Northern Michigan so I am used to catching 5 - 8 lb walleyes as a norm and usualy once a month a 10 lber. These stocked eyes just are not the same. They still eat good but they fish bad. The Bluegills fight more. I am used to these...
Lifes2Short Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 9lb, let's go fishing sometime in the next few weeks. I have the time, when do you want me to pick you up?
