BassMaster#1 Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 I had a 7'9" kistler micro magnesium ts crankbait rod that broke on my last outing. I sent it back to tackle warehouse for a replacement, but just received an email they don't carry the rod anymore. My $120 was refunded but now I'm in the market for a new rod. Wish I could just find this rod again for the same price I played for it. Maybe someone can help me find another perfect crankbait rod. Needs to be under $150 somewhere in the 7'6" to 7'10", telescopic and handle 6xd and dd22. Would also prefer split grip and micro. Thanks for the help
Lancer09 Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 You may find some help down here in the fly fishing section, but I doubt crank bait rods are much a specialty down here.
BassMaster#1 Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 Seems they stop making them. I know the bass pro cranking stick is telescopic but was looking for a glass rod. May just have to get that. Thanks
2sheds Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Five years back, the only telescoping rod I could find was a child's starter kit - about $20 for 6' rod, reel (throw-away) and a dozen bobbers and rubber grubs. The rod has been great for canoe float fishing - handles Eleven Point trout and smallmouth up to 3# in fast water.
Members MarkinKC Posted July 11, 2013 Members Posted July 11, 2013 Try www.bnmpoles.com I bought a crappie rod from them in the spring and was pleased with the price, quality, etc. I see they have a few telescopic poles in stock.
RSBreth Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Does it have to be a telescoping rod to fit in a rod locker? Otherwise I wouldn't bother - just makes the rod heavier and kind of clunky. Otherwise I'd try the Bass Pro Crankin' Stik - I don't like the "Powerhump" handle shape so I sand it off. Post this in the Table Rock forumn and you'd get more responses - this isn't anything to do with flyfishing.
