Quillback Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I've been using heat shrink tubing, Senkos last a lot longer than using the O rings with heat shrink.
Old plug Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 I like the bass BPS brand of tournament series whacky worms but I am just liable to put anything plastic in the tackle box on the line and use the same technique. They are not my go to 12 months a year. I do not worry much about the color just dark or light shades. I do have a few pink and green however for real low light periods. Wacky worms and trick worms take a lot of practice to be to understand them and really be effective with them. There are so many variations to the system of fishing them. The past 2 weeks I have been fishing them off channel banks that lead to spawning areas. I have been fishing them with a slow drop as As deep as at least 10 ft. It is a tedious thing to do and take a couple of minutes for a retrieve. It works that way for me. Lot of the fish I catch or not right on the bank either. But I make my cast to the bank and work the wacky back and down.
Members Huntington Parker Posted May 14, 2013 Members Posted May 14, 2013 Enjoyed all the comments on rings, shrink wrap, etc. for wacky rigging. I've used a wacky rigging system with good success called the Wacky RIG'R from K&J tackle. The O-ring applicator works great and the system has worked good for middle of the bait applications as well as a nose rigged variant. Also, a custom 'quick sinking' hand poured stick bait solves the sinking issue real well. Let me know if you are interested in a source for these; I buy mine on line from a small business in Walden, NY.
