I am heading down to Taney on Monday to Flyfish. I have always just wade fished below the dam but I am debating taking my boat. Is the flyfishing out of a boat below Fall Creek worth pulling a boat down and loading/unloading by myself? Just thinking about trying something different but I don't want it to be a waste of time and be stuck with a boat on the truck with nowhere to leave it if I decide to wade.

Thanks

Flyfishing above FC is good, not really below FC. You can put in at Cooper Creek and motor 2 miles to Fall Creek and get to Lookout without any issues IF you know the channel. Midges are doing pretty good up there. I boated my daughter and son in law up there today- boat ride- but I did take the fly rod and caught a rainbow first cast on a soft hackle. Rainbows were midging along the bank and I targeted one and he struck. Not many boats out- and there won't be hardly any Monday.

Not too bad today. Some caught off the dock and more out in the boats. From the looks of midging trout, there's quite a few fish above Short Creek through Fall Creek this evening. I headed up and fished zebras again from 4:30 till dark and caught a dozen.

This time of year it's usually a crap shoot but generally it's good over the Thanksgiving holiday. Lots of small rainbows though- about half of what I caught was less than 10 inches and the other half between 10-12 inches.

Babler reported he did good down at the island by the bridges yesterday and today fishing in the morning. Both fishing zebras under a float and using night crawlers. He said he had some rainbows in the 16 inch range on yesterday's trip. Had one brown that pushed 20 inches.
