I'm trying to "think" about where I want to fish, what to use, etc.

(As Jason can attest) - I'm the classic "Oh heck - that looks good" fella, but I'd like to better understand movements / seasons / etc.

With that in mind - I've been tyring to figure out the post-spawn movements.

I just grabbed a quick shot of Mont Ne as a reference. In the picture, I assumed that the red dot on the left is a spawning flat. Then, I took a guess at different stages or stops the bass would make on their way back out to deeper water. I know that post-spawn fishing is a blast for a couple weeks every year, and I would like (with y'alls help) to better plan where and why.

PS - Jason: Don't call the medics - I haven't fallen and hit me head :P

Thanks again guys,

Joe

Monday mid-day, I had one of my best largemouth days on Beaver by flipping a dark brush hog in the gnarliest stuff I could find. The bigger and more complex the lay down, the bigger the bass. Spent about 4 hours in one creek and had a blast. But it's Beaver. And that was 3 days ago. Tomorrow I'm thinking I should throw a chatterbait in 10-15 fow. ;)

Joe, Send me your map I kept working on it till I went to bed last night but My Pc isn't being nice. I will try it on my work PC today. But Montne is an oddball your spawning flat it right but where they set-up for munchies is actually on the flats on the North Shore and at the mouth on the south side going into the river... I hate when PC Programs don't play nice. Beware the spawning flat a lot of bow fishermen been chasing carp on it.

I saw a ton of shallow carp last weekend in the Monte Ne area. Those are some freak-nasty mating fish! Lol! Splashing around violently in 6-8" of water like two lucha libre wrestlers!

I saw lots of fish on shallow ledges. Some were crappie I think but they weren't biting at the time. I suspect they want something really really fast to go by them and a reaction strike is in order if they aren't actively feeding.

I hioe to make it out myself in the morning before all the "annual rift-raft" crowd shows up. Still debating on location. Monte Ne or Rocky B...
