oneshot Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Took a Canoe and Jon Boat down to Bennett Access,3 days gear and 6 people.Decided to go over to Barclay catch my Supper. Get to the riffle and ofcourse there was bunch of people messing around up on the end.I start fishing up a bit.First cast got hung up.Rerigged, cast again hooked,I'm playing it in the fast water, here comes about 20 Canoes and half dozen Rafts.Where do they go? Right on the gravel bar side.I hollerd don't break my fish off.I seen it going over paddles and Canoes, got it in with out breaking off.Went caught our Supper. Looks like Best Holiday in years, river and Camp areas were packed. oneshot
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Did you forget it was Saturday? I swung through the park about noon and there weren't as many wet as I would have thought. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

No I rememberd just had to check it out.Found it unbelieveable. But truly I'm glad it is so busy for so many business around here. What I have not figured out why so many buy Day Permit in the Park, then their on the river. Something was going on down there earlier, heard three different Siriens headed that way. This may be normal though this is my first year on this side of the river. oneshot
jdmidwest Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Its all of those faboulus reports you give. It is drawing a crowd. Of course, Memorial Day Weekend may have had to do something with it. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

Wayne SW/MO Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 My experience with the sirens that if the water was high, a child had drown. If it was nice out either some one drank too much, or they used one of the old rope swings and drooped into water used to be 6' deep or more and is now 3'. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
