Lifes2Short Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Put the boat in (Mutton Creek) about 6:00 yesterday morning and fished till 3:00, water temps were 68 to 70. Caught 6 keeper crappie by 7:00 and then they shut off, at least the keepers did for us. Found the keepers in the back of a small cove in 7 fow and caught them on rubber jigs in white & blue. Ended up catching a few keeper bass on jigs and some smaller bass and small walleye on the crappie jig. Ended up being pretty windy but the lake was not real crazy on the holiday weekend.
DADAKOTA Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Spent some time trolling Stockton this weekend. Lots of small crappie. Cleaned 15 over the course of the weekend that were 12" or better. Stockton crappie are not nearly as thick as the LOZ crappie. I am guessing a lack of nutrients in the water. We also managed 6 keeper walleyes. All caught on Bandit 300 cranks 17 to 25 FOW.
Lifes2Short Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 Yeah LOZ crappie are really doing well. Was up a few weekends ago with some friends and we ended up catching over 250, cleaned 125 of them. All of them were caught off one boat dock and casting off the point located next to the dock. Gravious Arm.
DADAKOTA Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 The crappie at LOZ are much thicker across the back than the ones I caught at Stockton last weekend. HAd some real nice 12-14 inch fish but they are not real thick across the back. Not many 10" or better fish as compared to LOZ.
