duckydoty Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I use up to 15 pound tippet in Alaska. At night in Missouri I will use 10 pound test A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I like 6# P-line which is probably about 5lb diameter. I've just had great luck using P-line. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

grizzly Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I've used 10 lb. test when stripping articulated streamers. We were using 3x & 4x up in Montana on the Madison below the park. So about 5-7 lbs. Around Missouri, usually 3-4 lb. tippets.
stlfisher Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Depends. I use mostly 3 lb in the trout parks, 4-5lb outside the parks, 6-8lb when stripping or swinging flies.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I'm not a fan of braid as a do all line. It has it's uses, but overall I like P-line. For a standard mono line it's still hard to beat XL on a spinning reel. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members Adam B Posted June 10, 2013 Members Posted June 10, 2013 Fly Fishing tippet? I use trout hunter 6.5x Fluoro so 3.1lb test. 6lb fluro is what I put on friends spinning reels.
