Went down to visit my family in Alabama a month ago (Mobile area), finally got around to getting some pics. We had a blast and caught all fish on the A-rig.

Caught 2 fish over 8.5 lbs, one at 7.5 lbs, and 6 that were between 6-7lbs all in one day.

Gotta love those FL strain fish!

Hope you have a short memory. If we get anything near that size, I'll do hand springs from Bow to Stern. Look forward to seeing you and your mom on June 8th.

Just great fish. The smile tell it all.

I'm looking forward to it! Last time she fished with you she had the time of her life (no pressure!). She used to fish that lake when she was young so going back always brings back good memories for her, and me too for that matter. One of the best childhood pics my family has of me is when I was 3 years old holding a bluegill on the dock in Shell Knob. Always loved the Rock and I'll fish it til I can't fish anymore!

Nice Fish!! I have mixed emotions about introducing those hawgs to the Rock, but mostly I don't think it's a good idea. On a brighter note, love seeing that Power Cat in AL. lol

No introduction possible. To far North for the Florida's. Tried it at Grand and got zip. Anyway MDC is not introducing any non-native species, in our life time.

There are Florida strain at Lake atkins in arkansas. Not that much farther south. Totaly different type lake though. It's shallow with flooded cypress trees. Caught this beauty there last year. post-10209-136997978331_thumb.jpg

Fantastic Fish. A few years ago we had a discussion on the Florida Bass and why they tolerate different locations. Why do they go deep in California lakes and just not do the same or do well in others with great shad populations. I think it is still kind of a mystery.

Seems much out of Texas and Calley, they struggle out of the South.
