ANYONE DO ANY FLOAT AND FLY FISHING ON THE ROCK. I WOULD APPRECIATE SOME ADVICE. THANKS

Posted

FnF is basically a winter time rig. I haven't tried it after the first of March. What species are you trying to catch on it?

Tried it for the first time early this spring on Table Rock, I caught some spots on it, fishing it on a deep channel swing that came in near a flat. I haven't tried it during the warm months, but it might be worth a shot.

I knew that it was primarily a winter tim rig, but i bet it might work this time of year on some crappie. just a thought, do you guys tie any jigs of your own or do you have a preference on brand, color, etc?

Yes I make my own FnF jigs. They are deadly for crappie in Jan and Feb if and when they move to the shallow flats. I have never tried them this time of year as I can only throw a 12' leader and my crappie friends are catching them at 20'.

Float fishing is the best way to enjoy the fly fishing. Experiencing fly fishing from a boat can provide exciting opportunities to reach remote parts of the river not accessible on foot.
