Members stlskyline Posted June 12, 2013 Members Posted June 12, 2013 The wife and I usually fish on the Current, but we decided to try Bennett Springs and I' m looking for lodging suggestions. we are planning on fishing the park this weekend. we realize iit will be crowded, but want to try something different. As long as it has air and is clean that is our only requirement. we usually stay in Licking, Mo when fishing the Current. Any suggestions on eating places would help. thanks
ness Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Sand Springs, just outside the park gates, is pretty good motel lodging with a decent restaurant on the premises. John
NoLuck Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 The super 8 in Lebanon is pretty decent. The drive to the park will be less than the drive from Licking to Montauk. I would be making reservations pretty quick either way if you plan on going this weekend.
Members stlskyline Posted June 13, 2013 Author Members Posted June 13, 2013 thanks for the info. . I went with Sand Springs. let the craziness begin with fishing in the park during warm weather.
Members stlskyline Posted June 13, 2013 Author Members Posted June 13, 2013 Tried bs inn but it was full. As well as Larry's. We will try Ollie's.
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Tried bs inn but it was full. As well as Larry's. We will try Ollie's. He's talking eats stlskyline. The gravel bar at Sands is said to be good, but I haven't been there since it changed. There's a good hamburger place on the right above Larry's that is worth eating lunch at. The Lodge isn't bad and was reasonably priced. There's also a place just west of Sands, Oak something?, that is new and I haven't heard anything about it. Of course Lebanon has everything your heart could desire. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
