Biglerma Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 What are some of the "go-to" Jika Rig baits you all have been using? Was going to give it a try this weekend but I have not fished the rig before and wasn't sure what baits have been working well on the Rock. Thanks so much!
inshore Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 anything plastic. some favorites beavers, swim baits, tubes 10 inch plus worms.
abkeenan Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Its the summer pattern, 99% of the fish in Table Rock have now congregated in Aunts Creek for their annual migration and they can only be caught on drop shot rigs now. Nothing to see here....move along..
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 14, 2013 Root Admin Posted June 14, 2013 Beavers? says the trout fisherman...
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 14, 2013 Root Admin Posted June 14, 2013 ok... beavers. Had to goggle it. http://img.tacklewarehouse.com/new_product/RISB-BWB-1.jpg
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 14, 2013 Root Admin Posted June 14, 2013 Thought you were pulling a leg.
abkeenan Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Thought you were pulling a leg. Phil, Have been using full size Beavers on a 75/0 hook and slaying the big girls on them. Not easy to skip docks with but they go right through wood no problems. Throwing them on 320# Power Pro on extra heavy deep sea gear. Might be able to get by on Lake Trout gear if you just are using the yearling beavers. Paddle tail has great action on them. A steel leader isn't a bad idea either cause they have a tendency to want to gnaw through the braid.
jmes Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I use the creature baits made by Vertical Lures called Tube X it has worked extremely well for me
