Members Brokaw24 Posted June 15, 2013 Members Posted June 15, 2013 Hello all, First time poster long time lurker here. In a few weeks my dad and I are doing the above mentioned float. Does anybody have any tips, not so secrecy spots where we can get some tight lines? Also, what hook do you guys use when fishing with live craws? Thanks in advance.
Al Agnew Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 In my opinion, that's the most beautiful section of the entire Current. But it gets a lot of rental traffic and quite a bit of jetboat use. Weekends on it are crazy. Fishing can be quite good for smallmouth and goggle-eye. There aren't any "secret" spots along it...just fish whatever you come to, the fish will be there.
Members Brokaw24 Posted June 17, 2013 Author Members Posted June 17, 2013 We are planning a Thursday trip, hoping that will cut down on the traffic.
Mark Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Where is Williams Landing? I can't find it on the map or on mile by mile descriptions. Does it have another name?
moguy1973 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 It's near where the Big creek confluence is. Near jerktail landing. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Gavin Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Check the map link on the Current River Forum...its on there.
Al Agnew Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 It's actually off the same road that leads to Jerktail, but it's a long way above Jerktail, something like 6 or 8 miles by water. Jerktail to Two Rivers is a pretty short float, but Williams Landing to Two Rivers is a pretty long day if you're fishing hard.
