Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 24, 2006 Root Admin Posted November 24, 2006 Thinking about running Lunds on the Naknek River next summer. Any thoughts? I know they are pricey but are they worth the $$$?
Dutch Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 I don't know who owns them now, but I assume the quality hasn't changed. When Genmar owned them they came with a lifetime hull warranty. In my book Lund is one notch above all other aluminums.
polock Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 don't know about the V-bottoms and jets, but i do know we have had several semi-v bottoms with jets and they did great.. you get better handling with the semi v verse flat bottom, smoother ride as the v in front helps cut the wake. and still have the flat in the back for the nice plain.. also check out blazer ss boats.. we have one now, it is a flat bottom, and you can hit BIG waves running 40 mph and not get wet.. the hull design is great. not has heavy duty as lunds or express but pretty close.. i think you have have them use the heavier gauge aluminum if wanted. www.blazerjetboats.com
Members Skip Smith Posted February 13, 2007 Members Posted February 13, 2007 I have a 1996 1900 ProV Lund with a 150hp Yamaha. I fish all over the country with it and you have seen me many times on Lake Taneycomo. Even though they are a Deep V, you can navigate easily in two feet of water. When I have it fully loaded with fuel and three fisherman I start to drag in 18 inches of water. Many times I have run from Lily's landing to the rebar hole with one generator running or less. I haven't been able to justify going to a Jetdrive for the additional 6'' of draft. You will find this boat adaptable for river fishing or the Great Lakes. I plan on coming down to Taneycomo soon if you would like to try mine. the only downside to the Lund is that with high sides it is a little more difficult to manuver in the wind.
