Feathers and Fins Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Believe the title I got a bridge to sell you also. Water temp 82.4 Wind light Moon Full Mosquitos thick Wc and I hit the lake this afternoon from 4:45 to 9pm 14 walleye most in the 13 to 17 range but 3 keepers did come home hit 1 white and 8 bass smallmouth and largemouth and a drum. Flicker shad as usual trolled 140 ft back in 8 to 15fow. Fish were keyed in on inside pockets and the inside of points. We lost a lot of others including one big walleye that thought it was a tarpon and managed to headshake my bait free. Ramp was still packet at 9;30 when we finally got there from our long run and people were still loading and unloading some planning on tubing at night. Also watch out several people don't understand turning on lights at night while running is a safety thing. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
wc1063 Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 BTW, I have a bridge for sell, too. And it's better and cheaper then F & F's, please contact me if you're interested!!
Quillback Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Tubing at night? You gotta be kidding... Nice mess of fish BTW.
Feathers and Fins Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Quill I kid you not. 9:30 and they were just getting there and said they were. Our run back up-lake there had to have been at least 50 or 60 boats on the water still that I could see and several running no lights and saw several leaving PC as we were pulling in two were loaded wake boats heading out. I have a fear that these irresponsible unsafe people might sooner or later force ACE to turn Beaver in to a no night lake like many others around the country have gone. I talked to a couple friends last night when I got home to see how they did and 1 lost a rod n reel because someone ran to close to them trolling and snagged the line launching the rig and the other was swamped twice. I know its beating a dead horse but I asked if they saw the sheriffs patrol and the answer was NO. Where in the heck is law enforcement? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
nathanhooper Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Ok, so I'm a little new here. Been creeping a bit. And not that I really like to fish for those walleye that don't exsist, but if for some reason I was to find one on the end of my hook my curiousity is where the general area you were fishing was? Truth be told, I fish the Indian creek/dam area exclusively. I know there are better places to find large numbers of them, but I don't like to drive my truck a long ways or boat a long ways. I live up in gateway. I so wanted to fish last night. I was thinking it was going to be a perfect night. I'm going to try like the dickens to get out tonight even though work calls in the morning.
Feathers and Fins Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Not wanting to travel a long way, In that area I would simply try the areas I listed above the walleye are on them in different areas of the lake and I see no reason they would not be up there. Speed trolling is what has been producing for over 8 weeks now and it still is. 2.3 to 2.5 mph you are not looking for numbers but aggressive fish that want to bite. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Stump bumper Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 You must have been trolling some where besides your usual RT 12 bridge run because I was there until 9pm and didn't see you. We had calm water around the island and lots of top water action but no walleyes. I thought I saw you once but it was the same type of boat with a much younger boater and he was chasing the top water bite. I never went south of the bridge and spent the afternoon around Rock branch and din't find any eyes there either. The whites hitting top were small, seemed the bigger fish were down below 15ft.
Feathers and Fins Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Hwy 12 run ran out a week and half ago, Im following the migration and sticking with the fish. Until they get in full summer mode they will be easy to find https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
nathanhooper Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I guess I am not seeing where you mentioned where your going, but maybe that's the point? Lol All I can do is run over the 2 mph range. Not set up for anything lower than that for any extended period of time. I have been catching them doing the fast trolling, and same depth, but just not the numbers you speak of. Must be the flicker shad I'm not using.
