Roger Craig Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Figure next week when it cools down, going to spend the night on a bank somewhere, no boat grr, that has to change sometime. Any tips, ideas? Tried mid cricket creek last night for a cpl hours, not a bite. She trades cookies for catfish, I WANT MY COOKIES.
Jason Essary Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Capefair can be good from the bank. either side of the bridge at bridgeport or right out on the end towards the posts. Or go to cape fair marina and park at the far west ramp. Walk past the ramp and keep going until you can hardly stand as it becomes a bluff. Start fishing. Quillback Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Lots of bank space at Big M or Viney COE parks. But I have no idea how the cat fishing would be at either place, but if I was going to do it, I'd set up at the point off Viney, nice shallow point with deep water on both sides, seems it would be a logical place for a cat to roam at night. But if Jason's suggestions are closer, I'd go with what he says.
motoman Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Me thinks there should be a 'finders fee' of cookies for those who point you in the right direction.(hahaha)

Josh Holt Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 You might try farther up the river arms like walnut springs or even go up to blunks at galena or horse creek on up in the river if your looking for numbers go to the river the further up you get the more fish you will catch I grew up right on the river below the natural arch the water was walking distance from the house. There is some good catfishing up there with some of the best smallmouth fishing on the river.

I fished that area this earlier this year for whites this year with a friend, sounds like he took me through the area your talking about, one place had a little pay a cpl bucks for entrance box that you could drive down to the river, think they might be up there? I know we sure slayed the whites there this year.
Roger Craig Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 Tryin to figure out which way I want to drive now lol, cpl hours I will be hitting the road, get out a little before dark and catch a few perch to cut up maybe. Or live lol.
Roger Craig Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 Took a drive last night went up brush creek and found a place off the bank. 2 nice channels anyhow, one was around 8+ plus. All on FREAKIN LIVERS lol, had a cpl nice hits on worms, lost one, cut bait, notta, prepared bait, notta. They all were rod bending hits which was weird, so little hookups. Just fished till 1130 pm or so, probably left before primetime. Gosh I miss, night boat fishing, going to have to find something, cheap boat, canoe, kayak, something lol.
