ColdWaterFshr Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Business trip found Paul Dallas Esquire in the general area of Hwy 60 yesterday afternoon and with a couple hours to burn, imagine my surprise when I discovered I had packed my 5 wt, my fly vest, wading boots and swim trunks -- the car then sorta just drove itself down the lonely Hwy 19 to the bridge where I fished for about an hour and got stood up. Water was up and pushy, but a beautiful deep green color. Tried various depths and flies with heavy weight, but no dice. I became enchanted by her difficult ways and playing hard to get, I could've danced all night, but alas, I had to drive on. There wasn't a soul around except for the campground host. Note to self - plan fishing trips in the summer during middle of week. Earlier in the day the car had driven itself to another creek full of wild trout and fishing had been so much easier. Caught 5 wild fish from 8-10 inches in just a few short minutes.
Greasy B Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Boy, that's a special car. I need whatever your putting in that tank. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Doesn't sound like it's that good, he didn't catch any fish at the last stop. Sounds like it took him to the wrong place. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Nortrad Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Only 6 between the 2 of us on Sunday, canoeing f. the springs to Turner's, although one was very nice, my best fish on the 11 Pt., right at 14". Picture's on Dr. O's cam. Will post ASAP. River was up, fast, hard to wade times.
