J-Doc Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I can text lol... No they wont be on top water but just below it. I like to freeline bait at a couple spots and they usually produce right below the surface. Still see the bite but its not true top-water maybe 1 to 2 feet below. Does a slip bobber throw off the fish? How come you can't fish live bait down about 15-19ft just above them with a slip bobber at all hours during the day (provided the water is somewhat calm and not "wave-happy" from boat traffic. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Feathers and Fins Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Proper Dynamite technique is this. Hook a 4 to 6 inch bait in tail. toss out gently and let bait swim away from boat. If bait slows down Lift rod tip to make bait go nuts... If no bite after 5 minutes reel in and repeat. Secondary explosive it to nose hook them and let them out about 100 ft and let that one swim around while you are using the first one. Sooner or later one of the two will explode and bring a striper floating up. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Feathers and Fins Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 No reason for a slip bobber. Put a split shot on the line and send it down. Its like a drop shot you can watch your bait and watch the striper come visit. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Old plug Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Up here on LOZ those big long arches most likely mean Gar. We're about over run with them this year.
Guest Brian B. Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 All this striper talk, I remember the first smallmouth I caught in comparison to a largemouth- WOW, well whites/ hybrids/ smallmouth in comparison to smallmouth... WOW, night and day, I wish I were close to. Some good white/striper/ hybrid fishing that I could get into reliably. (Off topic, sorry- your discussion made me do it)
