Members NapoleonB Posted June 29, 2013 Members Posted June 29, 2013 so does anybody know anything about the fishing near Belleau Creek or in the lake near the St. Peters Golf course? Also, are there any good bass fishing spots around Warrenton/Truesdale?
moguy1973 Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 St. Peter's golf course allows you to fish down the middle of the 2 main lakes there where there is a cart path between them. Just can't go past a certain point or the course marshall will get on you. There's some big bass in that lake though. A guy I used to work with fishes there a bunch and has seen people pull 6-7lb fish out of there. I have only caught one 2lb'er out of there on a buzz bait once, but that guy I know has pretty good luck, mostly right at dusk. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Mitch f Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I pass by that lake several times a week and always assumed it was off limits. Had no idea you could fish there. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

Access is kind of limited, and there's not a lot of structure to fish from where you can fish (mostly rocky rip-rap). The guy I know usually just fishes parallel to the bank with topwater stuff. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Guest Brian B. Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 so does anybody know anything about the fishing near Belleau Creek or in the lake near the St. Peters Golf course? Also, are there any good bass fishing spots around Warrenton/Truesdale? Have you been to Refschnieder's State Park? (Spelling probably wrong) there are two lakes I believe- heck maybe just one..) The one that I used to fish- and I'm talking years ago was near the shooting range- don't worry, physically impossible to have downrange rain on you- you will see when you get there. It is deep- real deep.. And exceedingly difficult to. Impossible to bank fish. Borrow a small craft, or order an inflatable, Seahawk 2, or Seahawk 4 for example and fish the heck out of it. It was crystal clear, just gin clear.. I would catch them on Zoom Super Flukes in pearl white, and then on crankbaits after dark and at dusk. (Before I. Was introduced to the Senko- that would be phenominal- "Junebug" Bass Pro "Stick-O" would just destroy those bass. The access is off the road, a steep incline- I fished it from a bass buggy- not a good plan.. Way too heavy. You need a Kayak, or an inflatable due to the hill.. Make no mistake about it- there are big bass in that lake.
